The Coated Diplomat® is slightly warmer than the Clear Diplomat® due to a thin layer of coating on the single layer of Mylar® film. They’re known for their bright warm tones, resonance, and sustain. For drum set use, the head is coated on the top side creating a texture excellent for playing with brushes. The coating is specifically put on the underside of the banjo head for the comfort of a banjo player’s finger picking style.
